ATI drivers are the code and files used with ATI Technologies’ GPUs (graphics processing units), motherboard chipsets, and video cards. ATI, now owned by AMD (Advanced Micro Devices), only uses the ATI brand name for video cards. ATI Technologies provides drivers for Microsoft Windows 7, 8, 10, and 11, Mac OS X, and Linux operating systems.
ATI Drivers Download
If the driver disk which comes with your ATI video card fails to install, it will be necessary to go to the main ATI website. Once there, click the Support & Software link at the top of the page. When the next screen comes up click on your operating system, ATI brand, the model, and then click GO.
ATI drivers are not called drivers by the company. They’re referred to as ATI Catalyst files. Click on the most recent catalyst, download it, and then install it by double clicking the exe file. Once the installation is complete, reboot your computer and the ATI drivers should automatically load with the operating system.
ATI Drivers for Windows 11
If you are still having problems with the ATI drivers, click Start, Control Panel, and then System. When the System Properties box pops up, click the Hardware tab, and then the Device Manager button. The next box which appears will be the Device Manager list. Click on the little + beside Display adapters, right-click the adapter you’re currently using, and then click Uninstall. When prompted click OK.
After the ATI drivers are uninstalled, your operating system will find the video card and try to install it again. If the proper ATI drivers still aren’t installed or installed with errors, email customer support at the main ATI web page. Also, double-check to make sure you downloaded and installed the correct and most up-to-date drivers. If all else fails, go to the website of your operating system, and try to find compatible drivers there.
